We interview Igor Extremo, RETAbet COO, about their experience with GoldenRace so far in the Spanish betting market.

After a careful process of obtaining Spanish certification and several months of working together with RETAbet, in September our Virtual Sports and games went live in Spain through their platform. We interview Igor Extremo, RETAbet COO, about their experience with GoldenRace so far in the Spanish betting market.

How would RETAbet describe the possibilities of the Spanish betting market?

Since RETAbet started operating in 2008, mainly face-to-face via its betting terminals, the sector in Spain has evolved rapidly at all levels. The betting market has always been very dynamic, adapting the available technology to new opportunities to continue offering an optimal and updated experience to the end customer. Likewise, the betting market is immersed in multiple regulatory changes both in online and Retail channels, which are affecting all operators to a great extent. One example is last year's approval of the Royal Decree on commercial communications of gambling activities, already 100% in force, which greatly limits advertising in the sector.

In spite of this, RETAbet is managing to adapt satisfactorily to all these new challenges, thanks to the trust our clients have placed in our brand, the great adaptability of our in-house technology, and our constantly updated functionalities and product portfolio - both online through www.retabet.es and in person on our terminals.

What made RETAbet choose to partner with GoldenRace?

Our company’s philosophy has always been to try to provide our customers with a quality offer. In this sense, for us GoldenRace is a reliable supplier that has already validated its products in many markets with very good results. For RETAbet this is a guarantee of success when it comes to launching a new product and becoming one of the pioneers to implement it in its front end in the Spanish betting market.

What are the benefits of the RETAbet platform?

RETAbet's platform is very intuitive and easy to use. In addition, we have a wide range of products: In sports betting, we have over 30 sports, more than 30,000 live events and streaming images of matches, as well as a large catalogue of casino games including over 300 slots with new games every week, live roulette with live dealers and blackjack games. We have recently launched e-sports betting, with an innovative design totally adapted to this type of game where you can follow the games from RETAbet's own channel. The fact that we have completely developed our own platform is a differentiating element that allows us to draw our own roadmap at all times, adapting quickly to customer needs, as well as to market developments.

What are the benefits of having GoldenRace’s games there?

As well as complementing our product diversification strategy, the strong link of various GoldenRace games with sports betting has already demonstrated impressive performance, especially at times when the supply of available sporting events has declined. This fact is very important for Latin American markets, more specifically in our case, in Peru, due to the time change of various football competitions with high customer demand, such as the Champions League and the main European leagues.

How HAS the Spanish public reacted to the GoldenRace games so far? Are there any early favourites?

As far as our experience with GoldenRace's virtual games is concerned, we can say that, despite being a product that is still relatively unknown among the Spanish public, they have been very well received with results above expectations. We can highlight above all the top Spanish football league, because of its link to the undisputed king of sports in Spain, and the greyhound races because of the high quality of the pre-recorded games, where the customer can bet on the winner as if it were a live race.

What about in Peru and LatAm? Could you tell us a bit about the reception of the games there?

The reception was excellent from the start. RETAbet.pe is currently operating in the Peruvian market through its own betting shops, which we manage entirely and do not franchise, as well as on the online platform www.retabet.pe. The Peruvian user knows the GoldenRace product and the virtual football leagues are the most demanded, with the excellent 3D images that they offer.

After the period we experienced last year, with practically no sporting events, they have become one of the alternative pillars to sports betting in RETAbet.pe and, in general, in all of Latin America.
